Harvard Law School Shield Exhibit Now on Display

The library has mounted a small exhibit, on display in the Areeda Hall entrance area through the summer, about the recent retirement of the Harvard Law School (HLS) Shield. The exhibit includes a brief overview of the events that led to the shield’s retirement along with the HLS Shield Committee Report and President Faust’s response on behalf of the Harvard Corporation. Also on display are various images of and related to the shield, including a reproduction of Royall’s seal with the three sheaves of wheat featured in the former shield.

Plans for a new, larger exhibit on HLS and the shield are in the works. Stay tuned for future updates!
