The Raza Review was published by the Chicano Law Students Association (ChLSA) and members of the Alliance for Chicano Legal Issues. The newsletter intended to provide a link between current Chicano students and alumni; promote employment and recruitment information, especially in the Southwest; and facilitate fundraising for future ChLSA programming. In response to the growing number of members who were not Mexican, the Chicano Law Students Association changed its name to La Alianza in 1981, the year this issue of Raza Review was published.
